Functional Outcome of Limb Salvage Surgery With Megaprosthesis In Primary Bone Tumour Arround Knee
نویسندگان
چکیده
The knee is the most frequent site of primary bone tumour. A majority tumours arising in can be treated with limb salvage surgery and result good functional outcomes. We evaluated outcomes for patients who underwent resection megaprosthesis replacement around knee. used Musculoskeletal Tumour Society Scoring System (MSTS) evaluations to compare differences between distal femur proximal tibia placements. This study was an observational analysis cross sectional approach tumor region which has been done surgery. sample included 11 cases 6 replacement. Primary were classified as follows: 5 osteosarcoma, 12 giant cell tumour (GCT). Patients subjected a physical examination complete MSTS score then commpared data obtained. Functional outcomes, measured by assessment excellent patients. shows unsignificant outcome using Score (p >0.05). There no when comparing megaprostheses

LATE EMBOLECTOMY FOR LIMB OR KNEE SALVAGE IN ACUTE LOWER LIMB ISCHEMIA: A NEW PROTOCOL
Embolectomy has long been the gold standard for treating limbs acutely threatened by arterial occlusion. Delayed embolectomy has not been investigated adequately due to the belief that accompanying mortality and morbidity render the case futile. Following our previous experience with late arterial repair for leg or knee salvage I we applied the same principle to limbs threatened with prolo...

Purpose. In all patients treated at the Centre for Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcomas of Aarhus the functional outcome is prospectively evaluated by use of the Enneking system for the functional evaluation after surgical treatment of tumours of the musculoskeletal system. This system has been accepted by the Musculoskeletal Tumour Society and the International Symposium on Limb Salvage.Patients/meth...

Objective: The aim of this study was to validate the well-recognized outcome measure instruments (Medical Outcome Study Short Form-SF-36, Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index-WOMAC, McMaster Toronto Arthritis Patient Preference Disability Questionnaire-MACTAR) for patients who had undergone total knee arthroplasty in Iran, with its cultural and ethnic differences and com...
متن کاملFunctional Outcome in Limb-Salvage Surgery for Soft Tissue Tumours of the Foot and Ankle
Purpose. This paper describes the functional and oncologic outcome of 30 cases (in 29 patients) treated with limb-salvage surgery for localized soft tissue sarcoma (STS) or fibromatosis of the foot and ankle.Subjects. Patients were eligible for the study if they had a STS or fibromatosis in the distal one-third of the tibia or the foot such that ablative surgery would require a below-knee amput...

In this study, we analyzed long-term survival, limb function and associated complications after prosthetic limb salvage treatment in patients with bone and soft tissue tumors around the knee joint. A total of 63 patients treated with prosthetic limb salvage surgery around the knee were reviewed. The bone tumors involved the distal femur in 45 pati...
